Philippines: National disaster response plan: Hydro-meteorological hazards - Version two

Considering that the Philippines lies in the Pacific Typhoon Belt and is highly prone to hydro-meteorological hazards, this National Disaster Response Plan (NDRP) provides general directions to all agencies and networks involved in risk reduction and management. The plan aims to ensure the timely, effective and coordinated response of the national government and its resources.

To accomplish its objective, the NDRP embraces all conceivable contingencies and resources from the government, non-governmental organizations, private sector, volunteer groups, and other response operations actors. It identifies bridging and coordinating mechanisms, as well as activities, common tools, and services for its implementation

The NDRP promotes self-reliance and mutual help, and its effectiveness depends largely on the preparedness of different levels of local government units, as well as that of field offices and agencies associated with the national government.
