DRR school education & festival in Saijo City

DRR School Education & Festival will be held from 14 - 16 October in Saijo City, Japan, on the occasion of the International Day for Disaster Reduction.

Saijo City is a UNISDR Campaign participating city and active on DRR education. This event on DRR school education targeted at 227 students will focusing on how they can scale up their disaster prepredness and risk reduction by learning from the Great East Japan Earthquake. The event will be held at a junior high school in the city with the presence of Mayor on 14th October, which will be followed by the festival for DRR public awareness together with local residents on 15-16 October. UNISDR Hyogo Office will participate in the event and deliver the message of Interntional Day for Disaster Reduction.

The agenda will include topics on: Flood, landslide, storm, capacity development, civil society, community-based disaster risk reduction, disaster risk management, early warning, risk identification & assessment.
