Launch of UK/India research collaboration on climate change impacts
Over the last four years DECC and the Indian MoEF have worked collaboratively on a project, funded by DECC, to better understand the potential impacts of climate change on India and provide adaptation response options in two Indian States. DECC Officials are in Delhi for the final launch event.
The work looks at national level socio-economic impacts of climate change on extreme weather events, water resources and agriculture. In the highly vulnerable state of Orissa, it focuses on cyclones and flooding and in Madhya Pradesh state it focuses on the interaction between water resources and agriculture.
