Addressing household food security in the context of changing climate and environment (2013)
The course introduces a more holistic food security dimension using: availability, access, utilization and stability used as a guiding framework. A basic overview of climate change adaptation concepts will be provided along with special attention to nutrition, gender and environmental components. Management, evaluation and learning aspects will also be highlighted. Food security efforts in forest, upland and coastal communities will be studied. This course is jointly designed and organized with Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN) with special focus on participants from South Asian countries (i.e. Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal).
