Reduce risk and raise resilience

Source(s):  World Vision International (WVI)

Climate change series, part 2 - disaster risk reduction:

This report highlights climate change solutions that are already working in the Philippines, Vietnam and Bangladesh, but warns that much more needs to be done to protect vulnerable communities from increasing disaster risks linked to changing weather patterns. It asserts that developed country governments need to commit at least USD 150 billion per year to developing countries to support adaptation, mitigation and disaster risk reduction efforts if they are to help protect their citizens.

Case studies include: Vietnam – Reducing Flood And Storm Vulnerability; Philippines – Coastal Management; Bangladesh – Cyclone Sidr.
