Protocol on climate change adaptation and disaster risk management in fisheries and aquaculture under the Caribbean Community Common Fisheries Policy
The goal of this protocol is to ensure development of a regional fishery sector that is resilient to climate change and ocean acidification, and enhanced through comprehensive disaster management, and sustainable use of marine and other aquatic living resources and ecosystems. The protocol strives to accomplish this goal by supporting member states in adapting to the impacts of climate change and building resilience in the ecosystems and livelihoods assets associated with the fishery sector. As outlined in the document, research, awareness, capacity building, regulatory reforms, and integrated adaptive planning and policy development are the main tools that will be used to ensure this protocol's successful implementation.
