Seychelles: Community-based adaptation - Local answers to global concern

While already mainstreamed into existing policies, climate change is also considered by the government of Seychelles as an important component of the processes of the new Environment Management Plan for Seychelles, reports Seychelles Nation. The Department of Risk and Disaster Management (DRDM) has been working on a national programme to educate 'vulnerable' communities on disaster risk reduction concern. The mechanisms put in place will help to scale up the community-based adaptation approach and identify priority actions to be undertaken by different stakeholders.
