Gender, climate change and disaster risk reduction and recovery strategy: Asia Pacific 2015-2018

This strategy document highlights the prevalent gender inequalities and power differences in the Asia-Pacific region limiting women's abilities to respond and adapt to disasters and climate change impacts. The aims of the strategy are: i) to contribute to the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of disaster risk reduction and climate change efforts in Asia-Pacific in line with the UN Women’s mandate; ii) and to provide a common framework and approaches for UN Women work in Asia-Pacific to ensure effective and coordinated contribution towards the achievement of the above goal.
