Climate change and water management - meeting the challenges in the Barents region
Climate change today poses great challenges for all people throughout the world. Cooperation on climate change has become a significant element of joint international efforts for pursuing sustainable development. The Nordic Region’s focus on climate issues promotes advanced research and development, establishment of best practice, and finding dynamic solutions. These kinds of practices benefit everyone.
Under Finland’s chairmanship in 2011, the Nordic Council of Ministers has chosen climate change as its central theme for the year. Emphasis is placed on collaboration at all levels, since this approach has proven to be effective in our globalising world.
