This job exists to:

- To promote individual and community resilience in emergencies and to enhance the communities' capability to respond to and recover from disasters.
- Deliver CDEM planning and management, recovery and reduction collaboration.

Responsibilities

Facilitating processes within the Thames Valley for:
- Gathering, documenting, analysing and communicating known information on hazards and risks
- Determining opportunities, vulnerabilities and at-risk groups
- Identifying priorities for researching and managing the risks.
- Working with Council, community groups and other stakeholders to prepare risk profiles and management strategies.
- Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on achievement of CDEM risk management strategies and plans.

Successful if:
- Risk management frameworks align with national, regional and local standards and planning frameworks
- Legislation, codes, regulations, standards and policy statements for managing hazards and risks are complied with
- Stakeholders and the community are kept informed of relevant risks

Qualifications and  experience

- A tertiary qualification or equivalent in emergency management
- Experience at working at both a strategic and operational level
- An awareness of hazards and risks within the Thames Valley
