Civil society-led Emergency Preparedness for Women with Disabilities in Gaza

To complete this study, community researchers worked with women with disabilities to enable them to devise a plan for periods of crisis. Efforts included strengthening emergency preparedness, coordinating assistance, ensuring shelters are disability-friendly and supporting long-term advocacy for women with disabilities.
The project consisted of ten community workshops, reaching 245 women with disabilities. One of the central features was the process of thorough and participatory consultation with local women themselves.
The report presents the developed contingency plan and concludes that it was crucial that women with disabilities be involved and consulted throughout each phase of the project. This ensures that their needs are incorporated into every stage of the programme. The community workshops were a key part of the process.
