Belize: District risk profiles
This report presents natural hazard risk assessment results for Belize's districts. In terms of environmental stress, in Cayo district, changing climate will be exacerbating this stress and making agricultural lands more susceptible to temperature and precipitation extremes.
For Orange Walk district, the report recommends the strengthening of emergency service capacity by reducing distance traveled to reach shelters, warehouses and other emergency infrastructure. It is also recommended to ensure that new shelters can withstand wind or flood impacts annually prior to the start of the Atlantic Hurricane Season.
