The relief organizationsBrot für die Welt, Christoffel-Blindenmission, DAHW Deutsche Lepra- und Tuberkulosehilfe, Kindernothilfe, medico international, Misereor, terre des hommes, Welthungerhilfe sowie die assoziierten Mitglieder German Doctors, Oxfam and Plan International form the Alliance Development Hilft. The alliance was founded after the tsunami disaster in December 2004, uniting larger and smaller relief organizations, religious and secular.
The Alliance is active above all in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The Alliance members provide both short-term assistance, which ensures immediate survival, and long-term support to sustainably overcome distress and conflict, as well as prevent new crises. The aim is to combat the root causes of hunger, poverty and violence.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
