A two-day national training workshop hosted by UNDP’s Global Risk Identification Programme (GRIP) in disaster risk assessment took place earlier this week in Swaziland.

“UNDP is committed to help government achieve some of her goals and disaster reduction is one of the areas we are committed to working with government in,” said UNDP deputy representative Neil Boyer who pledged UNDP’s support in the government’s effort to better the lives of people and build sustainable systems to work towards this.

"To date support has been provided in strengthening national capacity in disaster risk reduction frameworks; early recovery; contingency planning; community disaster risk management; and disaster risk assessment to mention just a few" said National Disaster Management Director, Samkeliso Dlamini.
