Regularly affected by different types of disasters, Moldova is continuously taking measures to reduce the risk from disasters, at the national and local levels. This Global opportunity will not go unnoticed either. Government of Moldova with the support from United Nations in Moldova is organizing various events directed towards raising public awareness about disasters and risk reduction measures.

Schoolchildren in one of the schools in capital city of Chisinau will advance their knowledge in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction, with the support from the national Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service.

In addition, special radio and TV programmes have been designed for general public. Prizes have been made available by UNDP and UNICEF for winners of the radio contests.

Information materials are also being distributed to various partners in the country, spreading the disaster risk reduction message as widely as possible.
