C3ER takes a holistic approach to climate change and environmental research, focusing on physical science, adaptation and mitigation measures. C3ER works by bringing different organizations and institutions together, for pursuing the goal of disaster risk reduction from global to local level.
C3ER has been conducting research for addressing the risk of climate change induced disasters. The mail goal is to generate appropriate knowledge and technology for disaster risk reduction. Local level is given priority, as a part of pursuing the broad goal of human development for building a climate resilient society.
C3ER is providing knowledge support to the Government for integration of DRR and CCA. It has also provided knowledge support in the global platform for loss and damage assessment, where DRR is considered as a key priority for addressing the risk at global to local level.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
