Seychelles national integrated emergency management plan

This National Integrated Emergency Management Plan (NIEMP) outlines the general framework and the Seychelles approach to emergency preparedness and response and delivery of the Integrated Emergency Management System required by law in the Seychelles. It is designed to guide emergency preparedness and response stakeholders from different organisations, helping them understand their own role and how it relates to the role of other individuals and organisations, and to serve the Seychelles citizens at their best during emergencies, regardless of their complexity, scope, location, or causes.
This plan lays out how the government response will be organised, building on the role of the Department of Risk and Disaster. It also describes the local- and sectoral-level arrangements, which are the foundation of disaster preparedness and response activities. It is expected that ministries, departments, and agencies will use the principles and guidance set out in this plan to develop and implement their own single agency or hazard specific plans, design training for their staff.
