The goal of the Grenada Dry Season and Drought Management Plan (GDS&DMP) is to achieve the greatest public benefit for domestic water use and sanitation in an efficient and equitable manner during severe dry periods such that there is sustainable economic, social and environmental development. It provides a coordinated and consistent program and a framework for integrating public and private sector actions to reduce the impact of human suffering from droughts.
The Plan which is part of the country’s initiatives efforts at improving climate resilience in the water sector, is based on participatory approaches in decision making, gender sensitive and the need to urgently address the adverse impacts of climate change on water resources and assuring social and economic well-being through improved water resources management.
