Forecast-based financing: case studies from Togo and Uganda
This case study focuses on the use of forecast-based financing (FbF) for climate-related hazards such as floods, drought and storms in Togo and Uganda, in order to complement existing early warning systems with financing for early action. The case study describes FbF in general terms, describes its application in the two countries, and outlines advantages, disadvantages and recommendations for the improved effectiveness and scale-up of FbF.
