Disaster risk finance analytics: Supporting countries to manage the cost of disaster and climate shocks
This brochure describes the work of the Disaster Risk Finance (DRF) initiative, which is part of the Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance Program (DRFIP) at the World Bank. The DRF aims to strengthen the financial management of disaster risk by providing quantitative financial and economic information and tools for risk-informed decision-making. The initiative analyses catastrophe risk data to facilitate decision-making and design financial protection solutions.
The brochure describes the various types of financial tools and approaches available to assist government and development partners in disaster risk management. Case studies on risk insurance in Kenya and the Philippines are also provided.
