Post-2015 consultation at the 7th annual Carribean conference on comprehensive disaster management
The Caribbean region level implementation of the HFA was facilitated through the enhanced Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) Strategy 2007 – 2012 which was agreed to and adopted by all member states within the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency’s (CDEMA) grouping. Given that the CDM Strategy is approaching its end, an envisaged review process will be assess the level of progress experienced in the region using the indicators that were articulated in both the HFA and subsequently the CDM. Moreover this review will highlight some gaps and articulate a CDM Strategy Beyond 2012. It aims to refine the Caribbean strategy and provide inputs to the new global blueprint for disaster risk reduction for managing the long term impacts of natural hazards, including the potential impacts of climate change and contribute to the achievement of sustainable development.
The consultation on the post-2015 framework for DRR took place at the 7th Annual Conference on Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) under the theme: Building Disaster Resilience: A Shared Responsibility.

La implementación a nivel de la subregión del Caribe del MAH se realizó a través de la Estrategia Integrada de Gestión del Riesgo 2007-2012 (CDM por sus siglas en inglés); misma que fue fortalecida, acordada y adoptada por todos los estados miembros de la Agencia Caribeña de Gestión de Emergencias y Desastres (CDEMA por sus siglas en inglés). Dado que dicha estrategia se aproxima a su fin, se evaluará un proceso de revisión del grado de avance experimentado en la subregión utilizando los indicadores que fueron articulados tanto en el MAH como en la CDM subsecuentemente. Más aun, esta revisión destacará brechas y articulará una nueva CDM posterior al 2012. Su objetivo es perfeccionar la estrategia del Caribe y proveer insumos para un nuevo plan global para la reducción del riesgo de desastres y para la gestión de sus impactos a largo plazo, incluyendo los impactos potenciales del cambio climático para contribuir al logro del desarrollo sostenible.
La consulta sobre el marco post-2015 para la RRD tuvo lugar en la 7ª Conferencia Anual del Caribe sobre Gestión Integral del Riesgo organizada por la Unidad de Coordinación de la Agencia Caribeña de Gestión de Emergencias y Desastres (CDEMA por sus siglas en inglés), bajo el lema: Resiliencia ante desastres: una responsabilidad compartida.
