The core groupe of the Africa Working Group on Disaster Risk Reduction (AWGDRR) is meeting and will be chaired by Dr. Khalil Timamy, Head, Dept for Rural Economy and Agriculture of the African Union Commission.

Agenda

  • Opening Session, Election of Vice-Chair and Adoption of agenda and Adoption of Communiqué from Core Group Meeting in May 2012
  • Session 1: Information by Core Group Members on current DRR projects/programmes
  • Session 2: Project proposal to EU/ACP for support to implement the Africa Programme of Action for DRR: ways forward
  • Session 3: Preparations for the Africa Regional Platform on DRR and follow-up of key Ministerial Recommendations
  • AOB and Closing
