Disaster Risk Reduction 2015 - 30th Annual DMISA Conference
The conference of the Disaster Management Institute South Africa is the biggest annual disaster management conference in Africa and routinely attracts more than 350 delegates. This year's theme is "the 2030 resilience, sustainability and adaptation mandate: a new action agenda for disaster risk reduction". The theme is inspired by the outcomes of the Sendai Third World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, which includes the 18 March 2015 release of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.
The Institute is recognized as the mouthpiece of the disaster management profession in Southern Africa. The Institute presents conference 2015 in partnership with the UNISDR, the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC), Western Cape Provincial Government (WCPG), Eden District Municipality, Mosselbay Municipality and the SA Weather Service (SAWS).
