Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET) works on linking, supporting and strengthening Field Epidemiology Training Programs (FETPs) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Until 2008, four Field Epidemiology Training Programs, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, and Pakistan, have been established in their respective countries of the MENA region.
The established programs, in addition to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Training Programs in Epidemiology and Public Health Interventions Network (TEPHINET), were exploring opportunities to facilitate collaboration, enhance performance and exchange knowledge and experiences among the programs; hence, emerged the idea of establishing EMPHNET with membership of the four FETPs as founder members.
From idea to reality: EMPHNET, headquartered in Amman- Jordan, was officially established in 2009. Thereinafter, EMPHNET is turning expectations into great achievements. Recently, Yemen FETP, Iraq FETP, Afghanistan FETP, and Morocco FETP joined the Network. Our missions are

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
