Policy analysis on migration, environment and climate change: Tajikistan
This policy analysis maps the migration, environment and climate change nexus in national policies, laws and strategies. Over the last decade, there has been a rise in global awareness of human mobility in the context of climate change and environmental degradation.
The report’s recommendations support the Government of Tajikistan’s adherence to the recommendations set forth by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s Task Force on Displacement, which calls for integrated approaches to avert, minimize and address displacement related to the adverse impacts of climate change. The recommendations also support the integration of migration considerations in relevant national frameworks and action to address migration-related issues.
