The Center for the Study of Architecture in the Arab Region (CSAAR) is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to promote and encourage the study, understanding, and evaluation of architecture in the Arab region. The center focus is on encouraging and enhancing the comparative study of issues key to contemporary architecture in the Arab World. To this end the center aims to organize and otherwise support study, teaching, conferences, exhibitions, and publications devoted to enhance our understanding of architecture and the built environment in the Arab World.
The center also seeks to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and the dissemination of information about architecture of the region to the academic and wider community as well as to serve as a clearinghouse of information and resources related to the issue .
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
