Description
The roundtable event will present the 'Yaoundé Action Plan to strengthen disaster preparedness and response' which was developed in the first Regional Consultation of National Disaster Management/Civil Protection Agencies of ECCAS countries. The meeting will then discuss resource mobilization needs required for the implementation of the Yaoundé Action Plan with donors and partners.
The meetings' objectives are to achieve:
• Common understanding of the Yaoundé Action Plan priority actions
• Support of key partners for its implementation
• Presentation of the upcoming annual consultation of ECCAS countries on disaster management
Expected Outcomes
• Initial funding commitments and/or funding channels identified
• Road map for the implementation of priority actions confirmed
