Description

The Tangible Earth is the world’s first interactive digital globe that allows users to view and understand the condition of our planet. It dynamically visualizes scientific data and allows users to interact with it by spinning the globe, querying the data presented and zooming in on locations and events of interest. The new global risk and disaster data that underpin the 2013 Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction, as well as case
studies and in-depth analyses from all three reports published to date, will be presented on this innovative tool.

The launch will include a short presentation of the interactive globe by its original inventor, Professor Shin-ichi Takemura, and the developing team.
