About

The ALERT Campaign is a National initiative in Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean aimed at enhancing crisis and emergency response skills across high hazard industries including oil and gas, petrochemicals, government agencies, and emergency management teams. The campaign fosters preparedness, rapid decision-making, and effective coordination during high-pressure incidents.

Training methodology

Traditional emergency management training often falls short in replicating real-world emergency scenarios. The ALERT Campaign leverages a AI enabled digital simulation platform to create specific deep context emergency scenarios and tools to conduct immersive simulations:

  • Realistic Simulations: Immersive, scenario-based crisis response training.
  • AI-Powered Insights: Performance tracking and skill retention analytics.
  • Collaborative Learning: Cross-industry knowledge sharing and best practice adoption.

As the ALERT Campaign leverages digital tools the training can be performed online.

Training syllabus

Each training program under the ALERT Campaign comprises four high-stakes simulations, designed to test and enhance emergency response capabilities. The training scenarios provide deep context and hazard progression, covering:

  • Climate Change-Induced Disasters: Simulating extreme weather events, flooding, wildfires, and their cascading impacts on communities and industries.
  • Industry-Specific Disasters: Addressing chemical spills, oil rig explosions, factory fires, and large-scale power outages.
  • Human Error Scenarios: Examining decision-making failures, procedural breaches, and communication breakdowns.
  • System Failures & Cyber Threats: Simulating IT system failures, infrastructure breakdowns, and cyber-attacks disrupting emergency response mechanisms.

Participants will engage in hands-on crisis resolution, decision-making under pressure, and real-time coordination exercises to enhance their response effectiveness.

Target audience

  • Government agencies and emergency management organizations
  • Oil & gas, energy, and industrial safety professionals
  • HSE and crisis response teams
  • Business leaders and policy-makers

The ALERT Campaign is an open call for organizations and professionals in the Caribbean region to elevate their emergency preparedness. Engage in workshops, participate in digital simulations, and contribute to the evolution of crisis response strategies.
