Booth 25: The European Commission

Description

The European Commission will present the different facets of its work and experience in Disaster Risk Reduction. These include: research activities, community-based disaster preparedness (DIPECHO programme), and two recently adopted Communications on an "EU Strategy for supporting DRR in developing countries" and on a "Community approach for the prevention of natural and man-made disasters". In addition, an overview of work on Post Disaster Needs Assessments (PDNA) will be provided, as well as recovery planning activities, jointly developed and implemented with the UN and the WB.
