Source(s):  Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery - UNDP (BCPR-UNDP)

This brief describes the links between disaster risk reduction, governance, mainstreaming and development on the basis of the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015 and the 2009 Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction. It presents UNDP's unique position to advance the agenda of these important areas, as well as its role and support services, illustrated with some examples from different disaster-prone countries, including two good practices in Indonesia and India.
