Consultancy: Socio-cultural Study

French Red Cross is looking for a consultant to carry out a Socio-cultural study in 9 rural communities (6 in Guadalcanal and 3 in Savo Island). This study is part of the Disaster Risk Reduction and WASH program titled “Supporting Community Planning 3” (SCP3), funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The consultancy objective is to identify in advance the drivers and barriers that affect the success of the program. By providing the opportunity to better understand the sociocultural context, the study will help with the development and implementation of the WASH and DRR activities, and ensure that the program is both relevant and appropriate to the setting.
The expected deliverables from the study are:
- Report from the socio-cultural study, with realistic/concrete recommendations.
- Debriefing, with support materials (such as power point presentations, etc.).
- “How to better engage communities” guide.
