Report of the Community Conservation Resilience Initiative, November 2015
This report presents observations and recommendations obtained from bottom up, participatory assessments with local communities from Chile, Ethiopia, Iran, Panama, Paraguay, Russia, Samoa, Solomon Islands, South Africa and Uganda, within the Community Conservation Resilience Initiative (CCRI). All the case studies show how local communities and indigenous peoples are highly motivated to both protect and restore biodiversity and habitats, making them resilient to threats and challenges, such as those posed by floods and droughts. Further, the report provides recommendations to policy makers in order to to strengthen these initiatives.
