Climate information needs for financial decision making
This study examines the role of climate science in financial analysis, considering the exacerbate risks to financial investments created by weather events. It argues that managing these risks most effectively will depend on scientific advances and increases in the capacity of financial decision makers to use the scientific knowledge that results.
It seeks: (i) to help provide financial analysts, the public, the media, and leaders in the business and financial communities with access to the best available knowledge and understanding relating to climate variability and change; (ii) to identify key climate information needs to improve financial analysis; and (iii) to develop and strengthen collaborations involving climate researchers and financial decision makers.
