MEP Gay Mitchell was elected Member of the European Parliament for the Dublin constituency on 11 June 2004. Mitchell is a full member of the Development Committee, and a substitute member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs. He is also a member of the EU delegation to the ACP (African Caribbean Pacific) – EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly (JPA). He is a substitute member of the delegation for relations with the People’s Republic of China. Gay was elected joint coordinator for the EPP Group (Christian Democrats) for the Development Committee and EU-ACP Assembly.
He is President of the European Parliament Working Group on Human Dignity and President of the European Advocates for Epilepsy Working Group.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
