Namibia: Red Cross, IOM, EU sign agreement on disaster reduction interventions

According to Bernama, Namibia Red Cross Society (NRCS) and International Organisation for Migration (IOM) signed agreements on disaster reduction interventions with the European Union (EU). "The intervention is two-fold: We will assist local communities in disaster-prone areas and the Directorate of Disaster Risk Management in providing effective coordination on disaster prevention and ensuring appropriate coordination with all stakeholders in Namibia," said, Raul Fuentes Milani, Head of EU delegation, which will provide more than 23 million Namibian dollars in aid. (US$1 = 8.69 Namibian Dollars)
