The Malaysian National Tsunami Early Warning System, which was established following the 2004 Acheh tsunami disaster, is able to detect the movements of the earth's tectonic plates a minute after they happen, reports Bernama. 23 tsunami siren systems also help to notify the public in case of an emergency.
