Fiji: GIS platform to help during natural disasters

FOR the first time, the office of the Commissioner Western will have access to information which will help in the visualisation of the effects of a disaster.

This platform is now available after the launch yesterday of a geographical information system (GIS) platform by the UNPD, which will link the Sugar Industry Tribunal with the Commissioner Western's office.

The GIS link will help with improving disaster risk development and also in providing information during and after natural disasters.
