Fiji: Education disaster

Source(s): Fiji Times

In his article for the Fiji Times, Pardeep Lal recommends schools, especially in small islands, to be prepared in the face of natural hazards. Therefore, it is important that schools have educated people able to provide useful advise and to find means of funding as well. It is stated that preparedness is an efficient way to minimise losses and the huge damage incurred during each disaster. Therefore, the article asserts that the Ministry of Fiji should consider a compulsory curriculum on natural disasters in schools.
