Marine Corps: Disaster preparedness critical, involves everyone
As US military personnel live in a variety of locations, they should be prepared to face many kinds of natural hazards, such as earthquakes, tsunamis or typhoons.
Marine Corps Installations Pacific is developing an audible, installation-wide warning system in Okinawa, Japan, which will provide notification that a tsunami warning has been generated, ensuring personnel and their families can put their plans into action when they hear that sound, according to Mr. Mike M. Lacey, the regional installation emergency manager for Marine Corps Installations Pacific.
