Dominican Republic: Seminar reveals need for better preparedness

The Dominican Today highlights the country's need for equipment such as weather radars and regrets that risk mitigation projects have not yet evolved into permanent and sustainable policies.

According to the news agency, the European Commission Humanitarian Aid representative Daniel Ureña said that although the agencies have advanced in prevention and response to natural disasters, “the accomplishments are neither wide reaching nor considerable, because the projects almost never become policies.”
