Description

The effective involvement of communities and local authorities in planning for a multi-hazard approach is critical for progress in disaster risk reduction. This interactive roundtable brings together different perspectives – international, national and local – to generate discussion and fresh thinking on actions required to accelerate implementation of the Hyogo Framework of Action at a local level. While examining opportunities and challenges in financing local action, the roundtable will outline investments that have an impact. Audience participation will be needed to help bring out different points of view and identify specific steps to promote
effective and sustainable local action.
