This Research Advisory Forum (RAF) will focus on the physical science and engineering projects of the BNHCRC research program. Clusters presenting will be:

  • Coastal management
  • Monitoring and prediction
  • Next generation fire modelling
  • Prescribed burning and catchment management
  • Hardening buildings and infrastructure

The RAF is an activity that supports both the research and the utilisation aims of the CRC. It allows for a more intensive discussion on the progress of each project as well as providing more opportunities for informal networking.

All researchers and end-users attending will need to RSVP by Tuesday 10 November 2015 to vaia.smirneos@bnhcrc.com.au, noting any dietary requirements.

The format for the two days will allow for a 30 minute presentation from each project in the main auditorium. The structure of this talk will be:

  • 20 minute summary of work in the last year and where things are headed
  • 5 minutes for an end user representative to give their view
  • 5 minutes of question and answer.

It is important for end-user partners to participate in the RAF to ensure the research priorities and activities are on track and fully supported. Scheduled breakout sessions through the two days will enable each project to have time undertake workshop activities with end-users, including discussion on how the outputs of the projects can be used by CRC partners and what needs to take place to make that happen.
