Syria has scheduled a list of activities and exercises for the celebration of the International Day for Disaster Reduction, including the national launch of the 'Making Cities Resilient : My city is gettin ready' campaign, with the cities of Aleppo and Homs signing up to the campaign by their mayors.

The event will take place in a school in Aleppo that UNICEF has engaged in their Child Friendly Schools project. The celebration will include launching the poster “Safety in Prevention", which will be distributed to all schools in the campaign cities, as well as launching the drawing competition in the Child Friendly School. Moreover, an evacuation drill will take place in the school with the participation and cooperation of the emergency services such as the civil defense, fire fighting department, ambulances, etc.

The occasion will conclude by an interview with the mayors, and will follow with the signing of the campaign certificate. The Media will be present and the event will be broadcasted on Syrian TV.
