UNESCO’s programme 'Man and the Biosphere' (MAB) is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2011. On this occasion, an international conference in Dresden, Germany, will assemble representatives from politics, administration, science and practice to discuss the future of the MAB programme in times of climate change. More on the conference subject and on biosphere reserves.

More specifically the panel discussion XI. will address 'Climate change adaptation and mitigation through land-use' and will include the following speakers:

Prof Dr Rattan Lal, Professor of Soil Science, Ohio State University, USA
Prof Dr Martin Price, UNESCO Chair in Sustainable Mountain Development, Perth College, UK
Henry Djombo, Minister for Sustainable Development, Forests and Environment, Republic of the Congo (TBC)

Participation in the conference 'For life, for the future. Biosphere reserves and climate change' is free of charge, but only upon registration – based on a personal invitation or based on your application.
