International Seminar on Urban Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
Overall Objective
To build urban resilience and increase the efficiency of disaster risk reduction (DRR) and disaster management (DM) programmes in cities and urban areas in a changing climate by enhancing Red Cross Red Crescent institutional and operational capacities on urban DRR/DM.
Expected Outputs
- International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies’ (IFRC) “Position and Key Messages on urban DRR/DM”will be endorsed. These would be used for post 2015, as well for longer term advocacy and positioning at national, regional and local levels by NSs/IFRC.
- Red Cross Red Crescent (a) Programme Approach; (b) “Guidelines for Engagement, Planning and Programming in Urban DRR/DM” are discussed and endorsed.
- IFRC 50 Cities DRR Initiative endorsed and launched.
