International day for disaster reduction: 'Workshop on disaster risk reduction begins at school' - Gujarat, India

Gujarat Science City, working under the aegis of the Department of Science & Technology of the Goverment of Gujarat, is emerging as an effective and large scale science popularization platform in India. On the occasion of the International Day for Disaster Reduction, the Gujarat Science City is organizing a day-long workshop for school principals including the following: theme based exhibition, activities and a competition for students together with a screening of theme-based scientific films for the general public.

About 200 principals have been invited to participate in the workshop and to get an orientation from the experts in the field. The workshop will design and discuss the effective mitigation plan for school and community. Interested members may attend the programme.
