Disasters are increasing in intensity and frequency due to conflicts and impact of climate change on Communities. Disasters have the potential of reducing Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and delaying the attainment of Millennium Development Goals (MDG). Considerable efforts are needed to reduce risks and build disaster resilience.

The objectives of this conference is to bring together practitioners and researchers in disaster management to share ideas on disaster management, raise public awareness on the risks of disasters, show case current researches in CCA and DRR and review current strategies in disaster reduction and building disaster resilience
