Earth’s climate has changed for the worse over the years and human activities have accelerated these changes. The seasons are shifting and global temperatures are swinging from one extreme to another threatening to disfigure land and water permanently. Extreme events such as hurricanes, blizzards, heat waves and the like are perceived to be the disastrous outcome of the climate change and all these would most certainly have a bearing on food security as well. The changes in climate have resulted in changing eco systems and the same will impact agriculture and food production around the world. Food systems will be affected through possible internal and international migration, resource based conflicts and civil unrest triggered by climate change and its impact.

The present conference is aimed to become a platform for various researchers and activists all over the world to come and actively discuss climate change adaptation and mitigation measures and how the same could be integrated into the overall development approaches and agenda.

Objectives

- Re/thinking the effect of climate change in all four dimensions of food security: availability, accessibility, utilization and system stability
- Providing scientific insight to farmers and public to adapt to the changes
- Sharing of indigenous knowledge among various stakeholders
