About the event

The climate crisis is one of the leading causes of the unprecedented rise in global hunger. Current humanitarian needs will seem small compared to the potential rise if governments fail to tackle climate change now. Innovation is now more critical than ever in developing solutions to adapt and mitigate the impacts of the climate crisis, particularly for vulnerable communities.

It is imperative that WFP and the global community continue to identify, support and scale innovative solutions that focus on the climate crisis, climate adaptation and resilience-building globally.

To that end, Innovation 4 Adaptation: Tackling the Climate and Hunger Emergencies invites participants to engage with and support innovative solutions and approaches for reducing hunger and promoting climate-sensitive food security and climate adaptation measures. Discussions will focus on scalable innovations and collective efforts to build sustainable food systems for the future, showcased through pitches by innovators, a fireside discussion and a networking session on the importance of collaboration to achieve a healthy sustainable planet for future generations.
